Pamela died on 21st April 2015, aged 81 years, a naturalist, craftswoman and Christian. From an early age, Pamela learned to play the piano and loved the outdoors, fostering a love of nature. She followed her sister, Wendy, to WGHS and although she did well at school, she left at 16 to work at Dudley Zoo, to the dismay of her parents and teachers.

After a series of other jobs, she moved to the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries to work in the Plant Pathology Department, where she stayed until retirement. She led a varied and interesting life, dominated by her love of nature and her faith.

She was an active member of the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, South Staffs Naturalists and a Friend of Bantock Park. She was extremely knowledgeable and spent many hours in the countryside, walking, studying and taking photographs, always learning, recording and passing on her knowledge to others. A craftsman of great skill, Pamela worked in wood, straw and stained glass, helping design and make glass mosaics for Attingham Park.

It is for her poetry that she will be most remembered. She wrote poems about everything, the world of nature and incidents in daily life. She wrote animal poems, with illustrations, that were bound into books for use in schools and had poems printed regularly in the "Express and Star" and "People's Friend Children's Corner".

Pamela attended Beckminster Methodist Church, where she was a choir member and helped start the day centre for elderly folk; she was also on the committee of the charity, "Power Pleas". As a child, she attended Sunday School at the little St. Thomas's Church, Finchfield, and later returned there to play the organ, until the church closed.

Diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, she spent her last seven years in Penn Fields Court, where she was lovingly cared for. Pamela was loved and missed. The funeral was held at St. Chad's Church, Brewood.
