The Upper Library... a place for quiet study. There was a lovely view of the front field, and grass courts from the windows when I was at school in the 1960s.
Anyone know why there are tablecloths... was it to protect the tables from ink stains and scratches, or was the library used for dining?

I have fond memories of mince pies and coffee in the Upper Library after the carol service. When I first taught at the school under Mrs. Ribbins Headship in the 1990s the room was used to entertain guests to the school as it had such lovely views from the window and somehow captured the ethos of the school. All prospective staff members had tea and buiscuits at rec in the library before they were interviewed for a post.
